Nuts expands partnership with Honda LA Marathon
Snack Brand of Diamond Foods to provide
Official Snack Nut for March 21 race
LOS ANGELES – March 11, 2010 – Building off of a
successful partnership the past few years, Emerald Nuts®
has entered into a two-year partnership as the
“Official Snack Nut” of the Honda LA Marathon
presented by K-Swiss.
“We are very excited to sponsor such a significant
race,” said Jeff Ngo, Director of Marketing for
Emerald Nuts. “Runners and spectators are going to see
us and learn about the healthy benefits of adding
Emerald Nuts to their training diets.”
Emerald makes over 30 different varieties of fruit and
nut products for quick energy – bona fide “fuel
food” – with essential proteins, vitamins and
minerals, in a series of portable canisters and
foil-sealed packs. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, walnuts,
mixed nuts, trail mix and other snack items are all
available to meet the needs – and tastes – of
runners everywhere.
Emerald Nuts will sponsor the “Emerald Final Five”
– miles 21 through 26 – as the Marathon’s 25,000
participants near the end of the 26.2 mile race on the
new, iconic Stadium to the Sea course that will end in
Santa Monica, California. Runners will pass under
massive Emerald Nuts gateway arches as they click off
the final miles to the finish.
“A healthier diet is one of the challenges we all face
today, especially in preparation for a 26.2-mile
marathon,” noted LA MARATHON LLC president Russ
Pillar. “Emerald Nuts can be a part of a better diet
and we’re happy to be able to showcase them in our
25th anniversary race.”
In addition, Emerald Nuts products will be sampled at
the LA Marathon Expo at Dodger Stadium on March 19-20,
along the course at the four City Block Parties in
Hollywood, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills and at the
Finish Line Beach Party in Santa Monica.
