MCM10K Registration Climbs Above 7,000 Runners

Event Signs Sponsorship with Nationally Renowned Military Law Firm

QUANTICO, VA (August 31, 2010) - The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) announced today that registration for the October 31 event has reached 70 percent capacity having surpassed 7,000 runners. The event race field has been expanded to 10,000 runners after the 2009 event closed out at 7,500 participants. Runners are encouraged to register quickly at www.marinemarathon.com. Additionally, the MCM welcomed the Law Firm of Puckett & Faraj, PC as a new sponsor of the MCM10K.

"We want to affiliate openly with fellow military, former military and federal employees, to let them know how we can assist them with their military records or other adverse personnel action issues. Sometimes people know they need help but don't know how or where to find it. The MCM is one of the most visible ways for Puckett & Faraj to interact with the military and federal employee community," said Neal A. Runners are encouraged to visit the Puckett & Faraj booth at the MCM Health and Fitness Expo presented by GE on October 29-30 at the Washington Convention Center for free five-minute legal counseling as part of the firm's effort to aid military service members.

Reaching the potential expanded field of 10,000 participants would qualify the MCM10K as the second largest 10K race in Virginia and the 10th largest 10K in the United States according to USA Track & Field. The MCM10K will be held in conjunction with the Marine Corps Marathon on October 31, 2010. The MCM10K start will be held on the National Mall at 12th and Jefferson Streets.
