Online Registration for the AJC Peachtree Road Race Opens Sunday,
March 21 at 1:00 p.m. EDT
Changes Announced for the AJC Peachtree Road Race Start Assignment Process and Race Number Pick-Up
Atlanta, March 12, 2010 - Online registration for the AJC Peachtree Road Race will open Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. EDT at
ajc.com/peachtree. The first 45,000 out of a total of 55,000 entries will be accepted through online registration. Peachtree entrants will see some new additions to this year’s registration process. For the first time in the event’s history, start wave assignments will be performance-based - instead of randomly assigned as in years past - to help ease congestion at the start as well as along the course. Event participants will have the opportunity to submit a finish time from a past race during registration, and will be placed in the appropriate start wave based on their time. Also new for 2010, Peachtree participants will have the opportunity to pick up their race numbers at the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo at the AmericasMart in downtown Atlanta on Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3. Entrants who wish to have their race numbers mailed to them will be able to select to do so during the registration process for a $5 postage and handling fee.
Those that are not able to secure one of the first 45,000 slots in the race through online registration, or who prefer mailing in their payment with their registration form can fill out the paper application that will run in the AJC on Sunday, March 28. The remaining 10,000 slots will be selected at random from all the paper applications received by mail and postmarked by April 5, 2010.
The 41st running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race will take place on Sunday, July 4, 2010. The entry fee for the 2010 AJC Peachtree Road Race is $33. Visit
