Why Be Listed in the Directory of the Running Industry?
How to Have Your Athletes Listed
To have your athletes listed FREE in the Directory of the Running Industry, do the following:
1. Determine Who Is Eligible
Approximately 1,000 male and female open division runners combined and 150 male and female masters combined will be listed. General guidelines for inclusion appear below (though the editors reserve the right to include promising young runners and other runners of note). These times should have been met since Jan. 1, 2004:
Male Athletes: Sub-30:00 10k, sub-2:20:00 marathon, or equivalents at other distances.
Female Athletes: Sub-34:30 10k, sub-2:46:00 marathon, or equivalents at other distances.
Male Masters: Sub-31:30 10k, sub-2:24:00 marathon, or equivalents at other distances.
Female Masters: Sub-36:00 10k, sub-2:50:00 marathon, or equivalents at other distances.
2. Complete an Elite Athlete Form for Each Athlete
If an athlete was listed
last year, you will receive an email explaining how to update that
athlete's information on-line.
For new athletes, fill out a new New
Elite
Athlete Form (Agent Version) for each new athlete.
When updating forms or completing new forms, please pay special attention to the following items:
• Athlete Hometown - Since the contact address for your athletes is yours, providing the athletes' hometowns is the only way race directors can determine travel expenses and publish accurate results.
• Update all PR information and supply each athlete's top recent performances - Only times run since January 1, 2003 should be listed in the PRs in the Last 3 Years section.
• Supply any information designated as "NR" ("Not Reported") in last year's listing - Check especially for date of birth (very important for young runners just off the standards), competitive team, and nationality, etc. Note the entry for "College Competed for." Also, please double check team affiliation, as these frequently change.
3. Complete an Agent/Representative Data Sheet
If you were listed as an Agent/Representative in the Directory last year, you will receive an email explaining how to update your agent information on-line. If you weren't listed last year, fill out a New Agent/Representative Form. This form requests the information from which we prepare your listing as the contact for your athletes.
4. Phone or E-Mail in Updated Performance Information
If an athlete has a new credential or sets a new lifetime PR or recent (last three-year) PR after you send in the form, phone it in to 301-320-6865, or fax it to 301-320-9164 or e-mail to: directory@rrm.com
