Hello.

Please excuse I'm not even race director.
I have been thinking managing running event and never have it done.
I have some ideas in my mind such as name of event and when and where to hold, also how many participant i can expect, i have been working on finding sponsors as well. But even so, to be honest i don know how can i make it start. For example, do i need to have my office? How huch my own money needed etc.

Thus, I have full time job now but i'm ready to quit job if needed.
Or if directors who read this email are lookin gfor someone to help manage your running event, i really want to join to obtain experiences.

I very much appreciate if you could give me some advice.

Thanks!

Buy the book shown in the header of these web pages.

Organizing Running Events

Then you will at least know the names of subjects that you need to learn about.

1) Don't quit your day job.

2) Go and volunteer at every local race you can find. If you have any aptitude for any aspect of the management of a running event I am sure they will recognize that and put you to good use.

3) After about three to five years of voluntary apprenticeship you will be ready to handle and manage some of the aspects of an event. By then you will know what part you can handle and what part you should not.
