Default Stabilizing Clocks and Camera Tripods

Folks, we have found that Theatrical Rigging Sandbags are the easiest to use to stabilize our tripods in windy conditions. These bags have a great strap and hook that allow you to attach to the center of the tripod to stabilize with one bag, or use three attached to each tripod leg in conditions with stronger winds. We use 25 lb bags and only fill them as we need to with dry sand. These bags are made by Rosco and can be found in a Google search.

I use thes bags from Amazon. Cheap enough at 4 bags for $20. Each bag can hold upto 20lbs of sand and they are double zippered to minimize leakage.

I use a sandbag used to weight down soccer goals. Seems the schools/parks & rec department always seem to leave at least one a season laying around after they put away the equipment. Can't beat that price!

These are great, we use the black and yellow version. But instead of sand (messy) we use washed gravel. It never leaks and it keeps the bags and the area you store them in very clean.

I just filled empty milk jugs with sand. They weigh about 14 pounds filled, don't leak like bags do, and have the handle which is easy to bunge or zip tie to anything you need to secure.

Bags don't leak if you fill with fine gravel, they're durable and easily stored, and you don't have to buy any milk.

I purchased the yellow and black sandbags from amazon:

They are well built and hold enough sand to be a great weight but easy to move. I use three (one on each leg of my clock stand). I filled gallon sized ziploc bags with sand and placed duct tape across the top to keep them sealed. No leaks or problems.
